Knox, Milford on college rosters in 2026

Ethen Knox and Henry Milford are still on college rosters for the 2026 season, but Nathan Pfennigwerth apparently isn't playing at Slippery Rock anymore. At least he's not listed on the Rock's roster.

Knox, who broke all kinds of rushing records at Oil City and is still No. 8 all-time on the Pennsylvania all-time list, is listed at 6-0, 210 on the Mercyhurst roster. He's a red-shirt sophomore, but academically a junior cybersecurity major.

Knox had a breakout game of sorts as a true freshman on 2024, and has 77 yards on 10 carries and a TD for his career. He also has two tackles. And he's still listed as a running back, wearing No. 42.

Milford, No. 98, is a 6-1, 275-pound redshirt defense side lineman. He made his debut on Oct. 5, 224, against Cal and played in two games as a freshman. But he did not see action last season.

Milford is a math/secondary education major.

Pfennigwerth, a Franklin grad, is the same age as Knox and Milford. He is a punter/kicker and saw action in one game for there Rock last season. Pfennigwerth starred  starred in football, soccer (school record for goals) and swimming in high school.

At least two players from last year's senior classes plan to play college football this season. Oil City's Cole Findlay (QB/DB) is at Edinboro and JFranklin's Jacob Riddle (DL) is at Geneva.

ABOUT THIS SITE

If you are from Anywhere, USA, and happened to stumble upon this site, Franklin and Oil City are about eight miles apart along Route 8 in Venango County, Pa. -- which is about halfway between Pittsburgh and Erie in the western part of the state.

yardsandpoints.com (formerly venangofootball.com and then route8rivalry.com) covers the grid doings of Oil City and Franklin high schools in Venango County. It also includes the football histories of the two schools, which date back to 1896, along with that of (RIP) Venango Catholic (nee Christian and formerly St. Joseph in Oil City), which dropped the sport in the 1990s. I've recently included more stuff on basketball as well as the doings in other sports.
