* Fountain was Oil City's first paid coach; however, J. Henry Quirk was listed as coach from 1915-17. He did the coaching because Fountain didn't get along with the players. Besides Quirk (who played at Penn State), other volunteer coaches the Oilers had before 1915 included Van Eakin, Jim O'Neil, William Walker, Walter Mount and a guy named Davis.
